1 v 3 (10 mins)

1 v 3 towards goal

Divide into L and R side pitches from 5m and middle of D

Middle player (Orange) makes a lead from in line with P-Spot and receives a ball from Blue and tries to carry forward over the 25 against the 3 Blue attackers.

The main focus is on putting pressure on the ball carrier, transitioning into counterattack utilising overloads.

3v1 (10 mins)

3v1 Breakout

The Playing space is inside the hashed circle. If desired, you can make it bigger to simulate a bigger space

Objective: Score Goals

Principles: Baseline attack, Possession, Passing and Receiving

How to Play:

The 3  Players on one side start with a ball. They are trying to complete 3 Passes (adjust this number as necessary). Once they complete 3 passes, they Attack the Goal.

 All Players may attack the Goal, Including the attacker and defender in the goal box. 

You can make it a 4 v2 or a 5v5 depending on ability/ standing around.

If the defender wins the ball, they must clear it out of the hashed area. Once they clear it. Another ball begins on the other side.

5v3 MF Transition (10 mins)

5v3 Transition

  • Adjust numbers based on how many players you have (6v4, 4v2, 3v1)
  • Adjust the possession box to challenge passing skills or defending skills
  • Add conditions, 2 touch, pass and lead, etc
  • Adjust the numbers of who can join the play to goal ( after 5 passes 2 attackers go to goal etc)

One Team Starts with the Ball in the Possession area with a 5v3. The team in possession is trying to complete 5 passes. If they complete 5 passes they transition to score at either goal. All players in the possession box can transition to goal. If the defense wins the ball once the attack goes to goal, they can transition back into the possession box to earn 5 passes, and go to goal. 

If the defense wins the ball in the possession box, they can immediately transition to either goal where they have an additional player. If a team scores a goal they restart with possession in the possession box.

3v3 goal scoring (10 mins)

Focus is on receiving under pressure and also awareness of secondary leads

-3 teams of 3

-1 team attacks, 1 defends, 1 feeds

-Attackers lead to recieve from player A

-As soon as the ball is either in the goal or cleared out of the D player B's ball is live so an attacker who is in no position to infuence the inital play needs to be aware that they might be able to make a lead to recieve from B

-As soon as the ball from B is dead C is live and so on

-Play 9 balls total in order ABCABCABC then switch attacker defenders and feeders
