Organization:
Two mini goals, with a "jail" (the box set by cones) next to it as shown.
One cone or gate in front of each goal, distance varies with age/ability.
Two teams, one team in front of each goal.
Instructions:
The player in the front of the line tries to strike it on goal.
If the player misses, he/she goes to jail.
A player can come out of jail (one at a time) if their teammate scores a goal.
The team wins when all the other team's players are in jail.
The coach can yell jailbreak at anytime, to free all the players in jail to keep the game going longer if needed.
Coaching Points:
Keep your weight over the ball.
Strike through the ball, making sure to land on your shooting foot.
Keep your toe pointed down, and keep it down through the follow through.
Strike the ball with laces or the "sweet spot" (the hardest part of your foot, off center to the inside), the main point is to strike it through the top of the foot, not the toe if possible.
Your plant foot should be pointed toward your target.
Make sure you clear your hips through keeping them square to your target.
Progressions:
Make them use their weaker foot only.

1.Penalty area, set up as shown
2.20 x 20 shooting area, set up as shown

Instructions:
1.The game is called ‘Lightning Soccer’
2.One player starts in the goal
3.The first player in line dribbles out through the second set of cones and shoots their ball
4.As soon as they shoot they instantly run into the goal to become the next goalkeeper
5.The next player can go as soon as the shot is taken
6.If the shooter scores they are safe – no matter if the next player scores
7.If the shooter misses they must save the next shot to stay in the game (or if the shot goes wide/over)
8.If the shooter misses and the next person scores they are out of the game and become ball collectors
9.Last player in the game is the winner
Coaching Points:
1.Head up to observe the position of the goalkeeper
2.Head down at point of contact
3.Body weight forward, chest down
4.Ankle locked, toe down
5.Chip the new goalkeeper if they are slow to take up their position
Progression:
1.P – Players must shoot from outside the penalty area
2.R – Allow player three lives before they are out

Organization:
Set up grid about 20x25, adjust if needed depending on ability.
Two teams, give each player a number.
All the soccer balls with the coach in the middle as shown.
Two mini goals on the endline.
Line of cones 10 yds (adjust to ability level) from goal
Instructions:
Coach calls out a number, and plays ball in the field.
Two players whose number is called, runs out and goes 1v1 to the goal they are facing.
They must shoot the ball before the line of cones.
First to a certain number wins OR play for a set amount of time.
Call out more than one number as you progress, and finally all the players should be on the field.
Coaching Points:
Clearing your feet to shoot, taking the touch away from the defender and quickly taking the shot on goal.
Clearing your hips through, so they are square to the target.
Toe down, ankle locked, strike through the ball, landing on your shooting foot
Keeping your weight over the ball.
Plant foot should be pointed toward your target.
Get your head too see where the defender and goal is to determine what action you should take.
Progressions:
Move to larger grid and add big goals w/ keepers.
R- First person to get to the ball has x amount of touches to get shot off with no defender.

Organization:
Have the players in your group partner up (if there is an odd number have one group of three).
Have them stand roughly 10 yds apart (the distance can vary depending on ability level).
Instructions:
Have one player start with the ball in his/her hand. Have them volley the ball back and forth between each other, using proper shooting technique.
Coaching Points:
Foot should be shaped as such: toe down, heel up, ankle locked.
Strike the ball with laces or the "sweet spot" (which is the hardest part of the foot, slightly off center toward the inside) through the center of the ball.
Keep your weight over the ball to keep in low and driven.
If done properly, you should land on your shooting foot, because your momentum is going forward.
Progressions:
You can extend the distance the players stand apart.
