DRILL : The Race Track

Equipment needed

• 2 different sets of cones to set up the outside and the inside of the track.
• Enough footballs for one per each player

• Play starts at one end with every player having a ball. Using ball mastery skills we can use the race track in many different ways. 
• Using the blue cones only, up the middle to weave in and out, can do suicide dribbling, zig-zag dribbling with both lines at same time.
• Using the blue cones as a central area and starting point, create 2 lines facing up the middle of cones. We can dribble up the middle and then turn to left on one side and the right on the other and back towards the start. Once back at the start they go back up the middle and then turn the other way at the top. This creates chaos and helps keep close control and eyes up skills. You could turn this into a race and have the players in a staggered start and make the race track how you wish to go in direction. This would help older ones with ball control and speed, you dont want to sin off the track otherwise the player behind you is overtaking you. Younger ones could play follow my leader around the race track. 
• Another way is to allow the players to dribble everywhere but using only certain ball mastery skills, sole drags, outside touches only, turn at a cone or player and accelerate. Anything you want to teach you can in this area.
