The objective of this session is to introduce to the beginners goalkeepers the importance of foot work agility, associated with the techniques on shot stopping and diving.

P - 1 throws the ball on the ground so they have to collapse to claim the ball at tempo Before going to 2
P - Coach can throw a ball in at can time to distrust play which they have to claim to help Maintain alert focus
Key coaching points
- Following the movement of the ball - controlling the angles
- Being in line with the ball
- Recognising the trigger of the player calling for it, do you need to go down the line of the ball or stand back and protect - does it become a 1v1.
- Recover saves/line
- Set position – Assessment when theball is struck
- Dive forward to attack the ball
- Decision (Catch/Parry/Deflect)

SESSION DETAILS PHASE 1
Set up 2 mannequins with 2 feet apart from each other, 1 GK stays at the goal line behind the mannequins, the others two GKs will become servers, standing 5 feet away from GK1
At the coaches command GK 1 make their movement toward the mannequins in order to attack the ball in front of the mannequin with a scoop motion technique, as soon they catch the ball, They will roll it back to the server, and power step to the Left/Right for the next save (STEP/COLLAPSE technique)
5 times 3 reps for each Gk.
P - The same set up as previous, now the GK1 , will come forward for a shot stopping technique, at the coaches command he will accelerate forward for a shot stopping, initiate at his frame, for a basket CATCH, and contour catch, as soon they do the technique will give the ball back to the server, and immediately will receive another shot at his/her LEFT side near post, so the GK will have to dive for it.
Can use cones or poles instead of mannequins
