Ball in zone 1.
Our goal is to find a player in zone 2 or 3, facing the opponent's goal.
1 player gives us the width by stretching the field for us. Our 2 outside backs and 1 of our outside midfielders.
Notice how the top 4 players are telling us which side we want to build on. Here we want to build our attack using ABC1 and ABC2.

Ball in zone 2. Our goal is to find someone facing the opponent's goal in zone 3.
We are now playing with 4 lines, occupying all zones of the field. We have a clear strong side built around the ball carrier (Left Defensive midfielder), our weak side outside back is ball level, offering us a chance to use the space ahead of her if we are creating a 1v1 or 1v0 situation.
We will be looking to connect as triangle. building up creating connections between our lines. First 2 passes within one triangle, third pass starting a second triangle connection.
Here Red lines are the first triangle, green lines suggest the second triangle.
Weak side, outside back is moving along, ball level, while everyone else is traveling strong side with the ball.

Ball in zone 3. Our goal is to create a scoring opportunity by either getting a shot on target or a cross.
Outnumber and overwhelm the opponent's back line. We are still looking for triangle connections, it means the ball will travel from one line to the other, rarely traveling on the same line.
We are still occupying all 4 zone on the width, now limiting to zone 2 and 3 on the length. Constant recycling of our movement and the ball movement until the opening is found to get a cross or a shot on target.
We keep 2 or 3 players ball leveled while always having 2 or 3 players behind the ball. 4 players ahead of the ball or ball level when close to goal.
The most important is the create a scoring opportunity.
If a turnover occurs, this is a zone we wouldn't mind giving up a free kick. this would allow us to get behind the ball as a block.

Overview
With the ball, we want to occupy at least 2 zone 1, 2 and 3 and 4 zones A, B, C and D, giving us options all around the ball carrier.
