Offence vs Defence: Offence scores 1 point by registering a shot on goal and 2 points by scoring a goal, defence scores by passing or dribbling through the orange cones at half way. Ball must always start at centre mid and be played out to a wide midfielder.
Coaching Points:
- On offence maintain width and depth by remaining in position, do not get attracted to ball.
This will ensure that we are ideally positioned to exploit any space conceded by the defence sliding towards the ball.

Endzones (25 mins)
End Zone Soccer: Teams score by completing a pass to one of their forward players in the endzone. Use this drill to illustrate how the defensive team moves in relation to the ball, specifically how they slide toward the side of the field that the ball is on.
Coaching Points:
- Recognise how space on the field changes (closes down around the ball opens up away from it)
- Move ball quickly to exploit the space
- Players off the ball, check out to provide passing angle and attack open space
- Forward players, move laterally to provide the outlet pass
