To understand pressure and how to delay and deny.

Set Up
Same sized area and layout as before
Red team start with the ball
Description:
The trigger to begin is when the red player starts to dribble
The blue defender must close down the play and try to win the ball.
Dribbling into the endzone is a point
Defensive points are scored by dribbling in to the opposite end zone.
Progressions
A goal can be added either side to allow for a finish
Coaching Points:
Fast Slow Skateboard low
Pressure: Apply pressure to the ball
Jockey position (side on riding a skateboard) to force players outside, leaving enough space to recover
Delay: Jockey backwards (back peddle) to delay to person with the ball
Deny: Deny space by forcing the player away from the target area or onto a weaker foot

Set Up
Same layout as before
2vs2
Balls start with red
Description:
2 players start with the trigger still being a dribble.
Defenders apply pressure and must win the ball.
If possession is regained they can add another player.
Progressions
A neutral player can be added in who can be used to combine for a goal.
Coaching Points:
Pressure: Closest players applies pressure to the ball.
Cover: The other player provides cover by positioning themselves slightly behind to block of the pass.
Depth: Covering player should have slight depth to avoid a ball overhead.

Set UP
1 neutral player in each zone
50x40 area
6vs6 (adaptable)
Description:
In order to score the possession team must use a bounce player to set up their goal
The team out of possession looks to regain the ball using skills attained previously such as pressure.
Progressions/Regressions:
To regress I will add extra bounce players to the zones to free up space.
To progress I will add an extra goal at each end.
Coaching Points:
Pressure: 1-2 players apply pressure to the ball.
Cover: To block passing lanes
Balance: To introduce the element of balance and the spaces between defense and midfield

Set Up:
6vs6+2 GK
Half field
Description:
Red team must protect a 2 goal lead by defending deep (parking the bus)
Blue team must attack and win the game 3-2 (or more)
Progressions/Regressions:
If the condition is not working challenge the attacking team to score from a cross.
Coaching Points:
Red
Compactness: Close space to deny space
Pressure: Apply pressure as they get close to goal
Cover: If pressure is applied to other defenders cover.
