60-65 Yards Field
One large goal on each end. Pressing from Front: 2-4-1 with (2) FB's.
Team building OOB plays 4-1-2-3
(3) sets of 6 balls. Players will rotate after each set.
Instructions:
Game begins with team building OOB. They are looking to go to goal. Any balls out of bounds will re-start with Build OOB team. Pressing team must score within 5 seconds.
COACHING POINTS:
PRESSING TEAM:
1) SPLIT Distances > GO ALL OUT TO THE BALL = FULL SPRINT
2) Timing & Reading Triggers
3) 2nd & 3rd defenders.
4) UPKEEP (***Make sure opposite FB gets across as ball side FB will be pressing high.)
5) SET THE TRAP...identify weakness in opponent team that we allow pass to > target him.
6) ASET > ALL SPRINT ENGAGE TRUST
BUILD OOB TEAM:
Can counter-press to win back ball and go directly to goal > pressing team is allowed (1) counter-press.
Coaching Points:
Pressing from the front - how to shift and close space
Attacking Transition - runs ahead of the ball - creating numbers up situations to play behind opponent
and take advantage of expansive opponent.
