Description

Music is the melody or appealing tune that comes from the instruments. Local musicians play the instruments to bring out the tune capcable of grippimg the mind of the listners. When music mingles with songs, it creates an environment of bliss. Fans and music lovers go the extent of crying because it generates a sense of ethos.

Dance perform in folk songs and music called folk dance. It speaks of love and affection, real events of joys and sorrows of life. Examples of folk dance are Marooni and Jhyaure dance. Such dance are performed on certain ocassions.

Length of game:15-30

Organization/Rules: Ask player, What are the folk songs of Nepal? what are the folk musical instrument of Nepal?

Players are in a circle. Few runs to the middle, touch the cone and change the direction, runs to outside players hi-five and yell one of the musical instrument of Nepal. Musical instrument of Nepal;Madal, Sarangi, Bansuri/flute, Damphu, Sehanani/pipe, Dhyangro, Karna, Sankha/conch, and Harmonium. Then Player have to act/ make a sound of the instrument and runs to the middle, change the direction, finds the outside player and yell one of the musical instrument.

Sample Discussion Questions: Did you enjoy? Did you remember the musical instrument of Nepal.

Possible Progressions/Variations: Can adapt National Festivals : Players runs to center, change the direction find outside player and tags. Player have to yell one of the national festival and outside player have to yell dates/months of the festival and runs to middle, change the direction and find the outside player.

Next, Instead of jogging or eunning, can add different exercise (high knees, jumbing, sidways, skipping), in order to warm ups all the body muscles.

Potential Theme: Our Traditional Dance

Length of game: 15 minutes

Organization/Rules: Ask your player what are the traditional dance of Nepal? Players are jogging arround when coach yells number for example 4. Players have to formed a group of 4. The last group or ungrouped player have to show the traditional dance. Folk dance; Ghatu naach, Dhan naach, choulo naach, chandi naach, jat jatin nreetya, pool kisi naach, jharrah naach, balan nreetya, saraya naach, jhijhiya nreetya, courah naach, kattik naach, marooni naach, madikhole naach, hopcha naach, salhesh dance, mundhun naach, charya nreetya, bhairav nreetya etc.

Learning: players knows the traditional dance, and showcase dance steps.
