Organisation:
-Players in groups of 3
-Ball per group
-10 yards apart
-Area 20x10 per group.
Aim:
Player A passes into Player B. Player C closes down and tries to win the ball or force Player B back towards Player A. Player B tries to get past Player C and dribble over the end line.
Rules:
-Player C can't start to close down until Player A passes the ball
-Keep swapping Player C after 3 attempts
Coaching Points - Player C:
-Get there quickly/early to prevent opposition player turning to face you
-Slow down upon approach so opponent doesn't take a quick touch past you
-Get touch-tight...opponent needs to feel under pressure...not allowed to turn and face you
-When to tackle...can you delay until the time is right to pinch the ball
-Be aggressive...use body strength to force opponent backwards...do not allow them to do whatever they want with the ball...especially turn and face you
If opponent manages to turn and face you:
-sideways + low
-force in one direction with body position
-jockey and delay until time is right to pinch the ball

Coaching Points:
Strikers:
-Nearest Striker Arcs Run to Show Down the Line and Puts Pressure on the Opposition CB
-Second Striker SHuffles Over into a Central Position
Full Backs:
-Nearest Full Back Moves Touch Tight to Opposition Wide Player - Ready to Try and Win the Ball or Force him to Play Backwards if he Receives the Ball
-Furthest Full Back Shuffles across into a slightly more central position - leaving the furthest side of the pitch free.

Coaching Points:
Midfielders:
-As the Ball is being Played to the Opposition CB, the Two Midfielders can Shuffle over and block spaces. We are preventing the ball being played through us straight to the Strikers. If the opposition midfielders also shuffle over to try to receive the ball, then they can go Touch-Tight to them - This may prevent them being able to receive the ball, or if they do then we can possibly make a tackle and win the ball back or force them to play backwards and not forwards

Organisation:
-Full Pitch
-Football Rules
-When Either GK has possession, can the Defending Team try to use the guidelines we have just learnt to win the ball back higher up the pitch?
-Can we also be aggressive in 1v1 defensive situations like we worked on?
