Organization & Directions
Same organization.
This time use only 1 ball and add two cones on wide side. (making a diamond)
Key: adjust distances based on skill level. Longer distances (space) for less skilled level players
- Player in the center receives ball.
- If target without ball shows 1 arm, Pass ball back
- If target without ball shows 2 arms, Change point of attack
- Player in center travels to opposite cone.
- Repeat
- Rotate players every minute
Coaching Points:
1) Check shoulder before receiving the ball (Make it a habit)
2) Body orientation (angle body)
3) Communication (demand ball)
4) For target players, raise a hand or two as the ball travels (not before)
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization/Directions:
- 3 teams of 5 (1 player steps outside of the field putting 1 or 2 arms for 10 seconds)
- Pass and move. Player receiving the ball must screen for teammate outside of the field (reference player) and call the number before receiving the ball.
- Outside players (reference players) must walk around the field. Rotate them every round.
Progression:
- Add defenders. They can win the ball and score on small goals (1 point)
- Team in possession, X amount of passess = 1 point (No point if they dont call out the correct number from reference players)
Coaching points
1) Scan de field for reference players BEFORE ball is played to you
2) Field positioning is Key! (How can you angle yourself in between 1st attacker and reference player?)
3) Receiving with back foot vs front foot (space vs pressure)
4) Communication

Organization and Directions:
2v1 plus four target players on a diamond shape
Attacking players to keep possession. (Manage space appropiately per player skill level)
- Blue players can't play to target players unless they connect between themselves with one pass.
- Target players can play to either player in blue.
- Same logic as previous activitites. Target player on weak side must lift 1 arm or both.
- Blue player receiving the ball must check shoulders and call that number before receiving the ball.
- Defenders can use targets to score inside 4 mini-goals (becomes a 5v2)
- Rotate defenders and targets after each round.
Progression:
This activity can be managed depending on player numbers. It can be 3v2 in the center.
Manage space accordingly
Coaching Points:
1) Scan de field for reference players BEFORE ball is played to you
2) Field positioning is Key! (How can you angle yourself in between 1st attacker and reference player?)
3) Receiving with back foot vs front foot (space vs pressure)
4) Angles of support
