Organization: 2 reas 20 x 20 as in diagram. work each area alternatively. working 2 defenders against 3 forwards. (forward overload). session can be adapted to do equal number of defenders or an overload in any favour depending on subject..
Instructions:
blue defender marking red forward to touch mark player. player to go and receive ball from end red. forward should be in attacking half when he receives ball and sets a pass back to the two supporting red players who have entered field (now 3v2 in forwards favour).
if forwards do not get a shot on goal within 10 seconds- defenders win a point.
Dev. if defenders win ball- can counter attack and score in opposite goal.
Coaching Points:
first defender- touch mark.
second defender- cover support.
decision making - when press high or sit/wait
protect goal.
Go , low, slow, side on, jockey, 100%
show forward away from goal/ away from 2v1 situation.
isolate forward into a 1v1.

Organization: 20 x 20 area. players at each end of pitch.
Instructions:
start with reds and give then 5 attacks. red can decide on number of attackers between 2 and 5. red travel onto pitch. can not shoot before entering attacking half. (can also limit to must make one pass before shooting to stop a player travelling with ball and just shootong at goal).
Blues must defend goal and can defend with 1 player less than forwards.
can counter attack if win the ball for double goals.
after 5 attacks by reds, blue then have 5 attacks.
DEV. can number players 1 upwards and throw ball into middle of pitch and call out numbers to create even number game until a goal or ball out of play. Continous.
Coaching Points:
Press high - stop forwards getting into attacking half.
decision making and awareness - recognising number of forwards and reacting.

Organization: players work in pairs in enclosed area initially without a ball.
Instructions: reds and blues take it in turn to be defenders marking the player they are paired with who is a striker/forward player.
1. forward players travel about the area and defender must follow being in touch distance and side on.
2. small area in centre of square becomes an imaginary goal target. repeat 1 but defender to remain between forward and goal target. ** forwards to be mobile and be sensible and not running in straight lines. working defender to get in habit of touch marking.
3. introduce a ball. forwards to play with ball to target and defenders to touch mark. (passive defending/no tackling and forwards not looking to turn).
4.forwards start with back to goal. can they turn and take ball through goal area to score and repeat from starting position.
Coaching Points:
defenders.
GO, LOW.
If no GO can not get into touch mark position.
goal side- between player and goal.
have sight of ball
side on - NOT square body position.
Not afraid to touch mark/push forward to position defender wants.
protect goal.
