Ball Mastery (15 mins)
Core Skill: RWTB
Specific Aspect: RWTB with a defender closing you down from behind.
I Aim to improve: the players ability to RWTB and getting there body inbetween the defender and the ball
Key Principle: Individual Skill
Player Tasks:
- Be direct and attack the space.
- Scan, know where the defender is so you can get your body in a position between the defender and the ball.
- If the defender closes you down, look to pass to a team mate and continue your run to support. (Dominate, Quick, Proactive)
- Use a change of pace or change of direction.
-Communitcate with your team mate.
Ball Mastery:
Set up: maximum of 5 per group.
Elements:
- Inside and outside of the foot (Left/Right Foot)
- Roll over
- Tap, Tap, Roll (Alternate)
- Scissors & Cuts
- Halfway and drag backs (L/R)
Incoporate game realistic movements:
a) Drag backs
-Halfway, drag back on left,1 step drag back right foot and creative turn at the top and (COP) back to the line you started at.
b) Bounce Pass
-Recieve and play the attacker quickly, pass and move)
c) Soft touch
-Players to time run into the center so they meet the ball at pace, keeping the ball in the middle zone)
d) Straight RWTB
-COP, get round the end marker as quickly as possible, next player to start once player hits halfway)
