Basic Passing Drill to enhance players passing, control and receiving.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Key Factors
Focus on passing, receiving and running into position. The introduction of the second ball puts pressure on the players to move faster and make sure that they are in position to receive.
Organisation
20 Yard x 10 Yard Rectangle
2 Football and 5 Players
Starting players pass diagonally to the player left of him/her and then follows his/her pass to the receiving position. We should encourage players to be ready (on balls of their feet) to receive the pass, good solid passes but taking into account the weight of pass. Also encourage communication by calling, pointing etc. The introduction of the second ball makes the communication paramount as players need to be able to see when the pass is on or not.

Key Factors
Focus on passing, receiving and running into position. The introduction of the second ball puts pressure on the players to move faster and make sure that they are in position to receive. The introduction of passing gates with the use of the cones also makes accuracy important under the pressure of the second moving ball.
Organisation
20 Yard x 10 Yard Rectangle
2 Football and 5 Players
8 Cones
With the cone gates now in play the passer and receiver must get themselves into the correct position to pass and receive respectively. This should make the transition from passer to receiver faster as the additional time the player takes to execute pass will put pressure on the player to move before the second ball arrives.
