Description

Pre-Season Session 1: 10 min warm up, comprising of jogging/football specific movement and dynamic and static stretching.

- Extended Warm up for a further 20-25 mins Running Circuit/Technical Ball work

- Speed Endurance (Horseshoes). Split into 3 Teams, 3:1 rest ratio. 10 no. Runs

- Possession. In the same 3 teams, 2 teams look to retain possession while the 3rd team are a bounce option on the outside. Add goals to make directional to finish.

Running Circuit (25 mins)

Station 1: Ballwork

- Stop the ball, then move out to one of the 3 cones, working backwards, forwards & laterally

- Dribble round one of the 3 cones

- Play straight 1-2 with server, run round server, then dribble out around cones

- Receive the pass, make an angle out to side cones for 1-2, then out to one of 3 cones without the ball

- Receive the pass, make an angle out to side cones for 1-2. Server then mixes return up anywhere in the area, before collecting then out to one of 3 cones with the ball

Station 2: Active Rest Station, player juggles the ball inside the square. Forefit if the ball drops

Station 3: Shuttle Runs, 40m, 30m & 20m, in 40 seconds. 80-90%

Players working on stations 1 & 2 finish as soon as the player completes the shuttle runs on station 3. Players move up a station and player who completes station 3 rests as the server.

Repeat x5.

- Players split into 3 groups of 6/7

- Groups to complete Horseshoe in under 1min, X10

Possesion (25 mins)

Keep Ball:

- 3 Teams 5/6 a side.

- Area 30 x 40m

- 2 teams start inside the area, third team positioned around the pitch on the outside as bounce players.

- Teams in the middle look to retain possession and complete 10 consecutive passes to score a goal. Passes to and from bounce players don't count.

- Bounce Players limited to 2 touches.

- 5 mins per game then teams rotate.

To finish progress to directional play by adding goals at either end.
