Instructions:
A passes square to B. B drives at cone and commits before playing to player B who has made the overlapping run.
Rotation; A to B. B to C. C to D. D to A
Coaching Points:
- Movement before receiving (check)
- Quality of square pass and diagonal
- First touch to drive inside (create two options for yourself)
- Dribble with foot closest to support
- Pass as alte as possible to take defender out of the game
- Timing of run to support
- Communication - "Overlapping, Hold, Through""
- Weight and direction of pass to support
- Use of support as a decoy
- Disguise when passing (inside outside flick/no look)

Organization:
1. Two 18 yard boxes set up as shown
2. 12 players (5 A ttackers, 5 D efenders, 2 goalkeepers) set up as shown
3. 1 ball (Additional around the outside)
Instructions:
1. Opposing goalkeeper starts the activity by passing the ball to one of the two attacking players
2. As the pass is made the defender is now active
3. The two attackers look to combine to shoot
4. If the defender wins the ball they attempt to score on the attacker’s goal
5. If the ball goes out, start with the opposing goalkeeper serving in to their own player
6. Play until a goal is scored
7. Process is then repeated with the opposite goalkeeper serving to the other team
Coaching Points:
1. 1st attacker to commit defender to the ball
2. 2nd attacker to offer support for combination either in front, to the side, or behind
3. 1st attacker uses 2nd attacker to combine or as a decoy
4. Play at speed
Progressions:
1. P – Lim it attacking players to one or two touches
2. R – Attacking player start the game by dribbling the ball into the area

1. 40 x 25 yard area set up as shown
2. 12 players (3Teams of 4 with 1 Resting) set up as shown
3. 1 ball (Additional around the outside)
Instructions:
1. Teams play 2v2 in each half of the field as they attempt to score in their opponent’s goal
2. Defending players are permitted to follow their pass to create a 3v2 situation
3. Only the player that makes the forw ard pass is permitted to join the attacking players
4. If the ball is lost or a goal is scored the defending player must return to their own half of the field
5. If the ball leaves the area normal restart rules apply (thrown-ins, corners and goal kicks)
6. Rotate team after a set time interval
Coaching Points:
1. 2nd attacker to offer support for combination either in front, to the side, or behind
2. Angle and distance of 2nd attacker
3. Decision making of each player
4. Combination selection
5. Timing of combination
6. Play at speed
Progressions:
1. P – Remove restrictions and play 4v4
2. R – Play 3v2 in each defensive half to improve teams options to play out from the back
