Social Great problem solving task when different types of passes are being delivered to the attacker. |
Practice design:
Organisation
- 4 players on outside with a football, one goalkeeper, one attacker and one defender.
- This setup will be the same on the opposite side of the pitch; so 14 players overall.
- players on outside will take it in turns to deliver their ball to the attacker, who will attack the goal and work on the technique of shooting before collecting another ball and repeating.
- defender is active immediately and should aim to prevent the attacker from scoring.
Progressions/Interventions:
1. Progression - alter the deliveries to make it more difficult for the attcker to get his shot away.
1. Regression - the defender becomes active when the attacker has takentheir first touch.
2. Regression - add a cone in the centre circle, both the attacker and the defender must run around this cone before moving to the next ball (will add physcial edge).
Planned Interventions:
- Coaching process focusing on the movement to get away or lose a defender followed by shooting under pressure.

Practice design:
Organisation:
- 7v7 small sided game with emphasis on shooting.
- two points scored for a first finish and the correct technique used, one point for another gaol (emphasis on correct technique).
Progressions/Regressions:
1. Progression - only first time finishes are allowed.
1. Regression - player take out of the pitch for one minute; team with the overload must use it to their advantage and score with first time finish; if they do, 5 points scored.
Planned Interventions:
- Drive by to focus on technique used when shooting.
- Fly by to focus on movement awar from a defender because 7v7 naturally becomes man to man marking.
