If numbers are there then add fullbacks/wingers in or CB/ST.
Main Work - Red Team - Pressing from the front. - 15 Minutes -
Central Striker positions himself on 1 part of the D so that the GK is going to play 1 way. Don't press straight away.. slowly start curving your run but only use full press when the CB takes more than 2 touches and starts walking out/looking unsure.
The Winger on the side we are looking to force them starts on the 'Wrong side/infront' of the fullback.
Opposite winger narrows in slightly to give more numbers centrally.
3 CM's go man for man. Higher (on the opposition CDM) is on the goal side shoulder.
Deepest one (more central)
3rd CM goes on the 'wrong side/infront' of the other player and tries to encourage ball into them before cutting it off.
Key Areas.
Triggers, shuffle and encourage balls into central areas where we should have numbers.
Marking - Don't be touching the opposition before they are played the ball, have about 5 yards between you so once the ball is played you can intercept or apply the pressure on their first touch.
Overload in central area if we press properly as the '10' can support the 2 deeper CM's with a press from infront and the Winger/ST can split the CDM if the ball has bypassed them.
Angle of press - If the angles/press isn't curved to stop the pass into players then we get played around easily. Always check to see where the man you are cutting off the pass too/marking is moving so you know where to position yourself.
Target for Blues - Keep the ball and play out through Poles 2/3 up the pitch.
Reds - Win the ball back and score within 10 seconds.

Pressing 1 - Wingers Pressing.
If you have a ST who isn't very mobile/fit this may work better. - 15 Minutes
Have the ST sit infront of their CDM. If he gets the ball then it kills this. ST needs to block the pass into them.
Wingers press the CB's curving their runs to block the pass to the fullbacks.
If the ball gets played out to the FB's then the CM on that side needs to go and press the ball.
ST will drop goalside of the CDM and the other 2 CM's will be man for man with the other Winger on the opposite FB.
Same details, encourage the ball into an area where we can win it back (most likely place would be the CDM as we have 2 players close but if they bounce it out the recovery is hard.
Curve the runs to make sure passing lines are cut off when you are pressing.
Tempo - everything needs to be done at pace and on the same trigger. If someone is slow or out of time then we will get played around.

Pressing Drill (20 mins)
Pressing in a Unit - 30x30 grid - all rectangles equal so each will be 30wX10L - 20Mins
Split the groups into - only need 4 in at a time with 5 on the pressing team - anyone else is resting as it should make the intensity and quality better when in the drill. Make sure players swap in after each change. Each team will press for 2 minutes at a time in the middle. Each team will have 3 goes in the middle with the team in possession under different rules each time.
Defenders
Midfielders
Attackers.
Team in the middle are pressing - The deep player doesn't press. - They wear the bibs.
When Defenders in - Ollie is the deep player, communication on angles with players in front.
When Midfield in - Put a CB in as the deep player
When Attackers in - Put a CM in as the deep player.
1 Player from the middle will go and press and the other 3 need to narrow up with the anchor behind them communicating. Aim - block of the switch of play.
If the ball gets switched the closest player (other than the Deep player) will go and press the ball.
Team with the most transfers against them at the end has a forfeit.
Team in possession - Make 4 passes before switching the ball to the other side.
Block 1 - No limits
Block 2 - 2 touches
Block 3 - 1 touch - expect more mistakes and wins on this but should make players sharper.
