Following on from a previous fixture where after making good runs, the strikers failed to capitalise in front of goal the session was set up to re-create these specific situations.
Organisation:
- Set up as corner
- Blue GK, 3 Blue Def and 3Red Strikers. Rotate red feeder.
- 1. Player feeding in the ball repeatedly drills balls in 'head height' to the near post, this is for the striker to run across the defender to the ball and score with a glancing header.
- Repeat this a number of times.
- Initially blue defender tracks run but doesnt beat striker to the ball, this will build strikers
confidence. Gradually allow defender to attack the ball.
