1v1 transition to defend (15 mins)
Set Up: 25x25 yard grid ,2 small goals , 2 teams
Method: Green team will start ,player will dribble into the grid and score unopposed. He will immediately become the defender and have to take on a 1v1 attack from the red team.Once the red player score the next green player out becomes the attacker and red player transitions to defend.
Coaching Points: Players have to pay close attention to when the ball goes dead or a goal is scored so they can enter the pitch quickly to attempt to score. The player who is transitioning to defend has to be able to react straight away and recover to a defensive position and get tight to the attacker to prevent a goal.
Progession: If we have enough players we can make this 2v2.

5v5 Small sided game . Every player must score. (15 mins)
Set Up: 30x30 yard area,2 teams, 5v5 , 4 small goals.
Method: Fun small sided game in 5v5 format, coach will feed the balls in.Players can score in any of the goals. Once you score you must leave the field of play. This will create numerical advantages, such as 5v4, 4v3 etc. The first team in which every player scores will win.
Coaching Points: Remind players that the can score in all goals so be vigilant and scan the pitch as some goals will be less guarded than others. If a player scores and has to leave the pitch can the team with the numerical advantage capitalise on this.

Set Up: Red cones are all 10 yards from the centre ,2 yellow cones 1 yard apart from each other. Play starts from player 1.
Method: Play will start with player 1 who play the forward pass to player 2 who will come off the cone opening his body to to receive the ball and play back to player 1. Player 2 will then quickly scan his right shoulder and shift across to the cone on the right maintaining player 1 in his line of sight and receiving another pass from player 1.
In the centre yellow cones, player 3 takes the place of player 2 and player 1 takes the place of player 3. Player 2 will dribble and play a 1-2 pass with player 4 who will dribble through the channel and play back to player 5 and the action is repeated.
Coaching Points: Short accurate 10 yard passes, scan the shoulder quickly to ensure shifting to the right position. Receiving the ball on back foot with an open body. Remaining switched on to keep the tempo up and everyone's moving where they need to go. Can we up the intensity after a few rounds.
