Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Heading HiPe

Heading on goal

SET UP: 3 Players per group approx 3 m from goal and 2m apart as shown, a number of balls (if more players in group rotate or create 2 groups of 3

AIM: Develop heading technique - leading to heading on target

HOW: A number of variations to progress through - do each at least twice so all player sin group experience practice

1 - Player A throws ball to Player Player B who heads it towards Player C - who heads ball AT the goal

2 - Player A thres ball to B (who is now facing Player A) and heads it backwards and UP for player C to head onto the goals

3 - Player A throws ball to player B who heads BACK to Player A, who then heads high for Player C to attack and head towards goal

4 - Each player must head the ball to ech other and ultimately Player A getsw last head on goal by attacking the header from Player C

NOTE: Young SAP players may not advance must past variation 2, but try.

COACHING POINTS: Godootechnique, eyes open, contact point on forehead, use of legs to drive ball, once technique good work on pwer and positining of header.
