Football/Soccer Session (Difficult): Pressure, cover and balance?

Screen 1 (10 mins)

Set up of 40 x 40 box- mini goals in the middle. Four lines behind the blue and red cones.

A passes to B, B passes to C and C passed to D. All passes have to be accurate & with precision.

C pressures D and forces the player inside to the help coming from behind (A covering the gap). 

Don't permit the through ball behind you. 

Be Patient

Don't lunge at the ball.

C puts pressure  and A covers. If Blue wins the ball they get 5 points. If they stop the ball from going through the gap,3 points if they win and keep possession. If blue scores, they get 2 points- totaling 5.

D and B are attacking as quickly as they can can try to score by splitting defenders 3 points). 

Defensively - Blue- Can player providing cover, close the gap quick?

                     Can the one applying pressure (C) can they round their run to force the ball towards the middle, where teammates should be?

                     When you win the ball, how quickly can we score?                                 

Screen 3 (25 mins)

Set up of 40 x 40 box- mini goals in the middle. Four lines behind the blue and red cones.

A passes to B, B passes to C and C passes to D, D passes to 2 and 2 goes to score. 

Blue are defending. 4 v 3 

1 puts pressure  and A covers, C two players come out from that line once the ball is touched to provide four in the back. If Blue wins the ball they get 2 points. If they stop the ball from going through the gap,3 points. If blue scores, they get 1 points. Six total. 

D, 2 and B are attacking as quickly as they can can try to score by splitting defenders (5 points).
