Aim:
- WE 1-2 from open play, building up against high pressure (mostly centrally)
- 1 being able to support the build up
- 2/3/5 recognising when to drop and create space, and when teammates are under pressure and need a backwards option
Organization:
- 6 (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10) v (6, 10, 7, 9, 11)
- Team of 6 building up trying to play through the gate to get a point
- Team of 5 trying to win the ball and score on the goal
- 35 long by 30 wide
Coaching Points:
- Receiving and opening with correct foot
- Passing to correct foot
- Recognising where the pessure is coming from, and where support needs to be
- Communication to ask for the ball and help solve problems
- 1/2/3/5 recognising when to support, and where to move off the ball
- 6/10 understanding how to create the space to play forward, and play back when under pressure
Progressions / Variations:
- Expand the field
- Score on a second goal
- Dribble over the line
- Add in a target player
