Players start the session with Rondo & Club Ohio Warm-up
Drill #1: Y-Shape Passing + Pugg Goals
Players are lined up in Lines A, B, C, & D and all balls start in Line A. Passing sequence is A-B-C + finish on pugg goals and the next players starts A-B-D + finish on pugg goals.
Progressions:
#1- Limit touches for line C or have a countdown as soon as they touch the ball (Example: 5 sec to score)
#2- Player B supports Line C for a wall pass + 1 touch finish
#3- Line B becomes defender vs. Line C. Line B can only move forward when defending (hopefully gives success for attacker to score)
Coaching:
-Lock you ankle when passing the ball
-Follow through towards your target
-Plant foot is next to the ball pointing forward
-Strike the ball in the middle to keep it on the ground
-Focus on the power of your pass (swing faster for harder pass/swing slower for softer pass)
-Eyes up to locate target before you pass

Drill #2: 1v1 w/ Bumpers
Splint group into two teams on the end-line on both sides of the field between the pugg goals. Select two players to be bumpers on the outside of the field and are always support the player in possession of the ball.
Progressions:
#1- The player in possession need to connect 1 pass with the bumper before scoring on the pugg goals
#2- The player in possession needs to connect passes with both bumpers before scoring
#3- The player in possession can only score with a 1 touch finish from a pass
Coaching:
-Lock you ankle when passing the ball
-Follow through towards your target

-Strike the ball in the middle to keep it on the ground

Drill #3: 3v1 Over the River
Players are split into 3 teams (2 attacking teams & 1 defending team). The two attacking teams occupy both boxes and the defending team starts on the outside of the box. The coach passes the ball into 1 of the boxes and 1 player from the defending team enters the box. Attackers need to connect a certain number of passes before playing the ball over the river to the opposite box. If attacking team successfully pass the ball to the opposite box, a new defenders enters. If the defender wins the ball they try to score on the pugg goals.
Progressions:
#1- Find a pass limit that is challenging for the attackers
#2- When passing over the river it has to be a 1 touch pass
#3- 2 defenders enter the box and play for the entire minute for the round

Drill #4: 2v2 + 1
Players are split into 2 teams on the end-line outside of the goal and select 1 player to be the neutral. Players in Line C & D send the ball long to Line A & B and the play is live (neutral is always on offense).
Progressions:
#1- Must connect a certain number of passes before shot on goal
#2- Neutral players must touch the ball before the attacker score
#3- Attacking players only can score from a pass + 1 touch finish
Coaching:
-Lock you ankle when passing the ball
-Follow through towards your target
-Plant foot is next to the ball pointing forward
-Strike the ball in the middle to keep it on the ground
-Focus on the power of your pass (swing faster for harder pass/swing slower for softer pass)
-Eyes up to locate target before you pass

Training - Warm up (U8-U12)
Warm up Part I should be done before the training session starts.
Part I - Rondo (8 min)
- Play 3v1 or 4v1 depending on numbers
- Make the field big enough for the players on the outside to be able to be successful, but no so big the defender does not have a chance to win the ball
Part II - Dynamic Stretching (running) (7 min)
- 12 yards, two groups (one on each side of the cone)
- Do the following stretches twice
1) Jogging there, jogging back
2) But kicks there, jogging back
3) High knees there, jogging back
4) High kicks there, jogging back
5) Groin out (open the gate) there, Groin in (close the gate) back
6) Side shuffle facing each other there, Side shuffle facing each other back
7) Karaoke facing each other there, Karaoke facing each other back
8) Header, squad there, jogging back
9) Lunches with twist there, jogging back
10) Ickey shuffle forwards there, Ickey shuffle backwards back
11) 75% Sprint there, walk back
12) Sprint there, walk back
