Baseline Attack

Principles

*Soft Receive into quick play forward

*Prioritize the Near Post. 1st Player get underneath defender and occupy near post. Get in GK vision

*2nd Player Gets to Far Post

1. Player 1 passes to Player 2 and P1 reshapes to side 

2. Player 2 passes back to Player 1 then re-leads to near post

3. Player 3 Ghosts/drifts out-wide

4. P1 passes to Player 3 than re-leads to the back post

5. Player 3 who receives soft and passes off the right foot to Player 4

6. Player 4 soft receives and attacks baseline, passes a bouncy ball for a tip to near post

Add Defense

Defense Principles:

*Slow the play - protect most dangerous line - force attack to take extra touches

*Battle for rebounds - protect the ball once you win it

*Shift to protect the most dangerous space/players - shift after every pass

*Recover to goal and bump players out - make a triangle 

Defender 1: Contests the Short Post-Up Pass - If Attacker Can find a shot in two touches thats fine

Defender 2: Can Release as soon the post up player receives the ball

Defender 3: (Add in after a few rounds) Can Release as soon as the post-up player touches the ball

Same Beginning As Before

1. Player 1 passes to Player 2 and P1 reshapes to side

2. Player 2 passes back to Player 1 then re-leads to near post

3. Player 3 Ghosts/drifts out-wide

4. P1 passes to Player 3 than re-leads to the back post

5. Player 3 who receives soft and passes off the right foot to Player 4

6. Player 4 soft receives and attacks baseline, passes a bouncy ball for a tip to near post
