What- Breaking lines through the thirds.
Why- to create a variety of penetrating scoring opportunities
When/Where- while in possession through the thirds, mainly in central areas.

Tactical Holding onto the ball to allow opposition to press and then look to play the ball over into the attacking third. Look to split the opposition with a ball being played through oppositions units. Play the ball around the opposition and break through the thirds. |

Playing area as shown, centre circle to byline with funneling line (white). Big goal at yellow team end, two mini goals at red team end as shown.
7v7 outfield,
RED team (in possession) are coached . Players set up in following formation 2-3-1 , #5, #6, #4, #8, #10 and #9.
Yellow team (out of possession) are managed out of possession. Player are set up in following formation GK- 2-3-1. #1, #5, #6, #4, #8, #10 and #9
The aim is for the red team to find ways to play through and around the yellow team to create goal-scoring opportunities

BREAKING LINES - IN POSSESSION - SSG
Area Size; Player Numbers; Organisation
Red team are coached in possession.
Yellow team are managed out of possession (Assistant coach if available)
The aim is for the RED team to find ways to play through, around or over Yellow team and score.
All goals scored by Yellow count double TIME LIMIT of 8 SECONDS

1 Minute explaining the small sided game.

Offsides will be in play.
Reds are encouraged to play a long, penetrating pass when it's on.
#1 #5 or #6 to play a direct ball to #9 (who is pinning back the CB to create space around and in front of him) who will have a goal-scoring opportunity.
