Passing Practice
Setup
25x25 grid. 4 Players on cones 1 & 2, 3 players on cones 3 & 4, and 1 player in the centre.
1 plays to the centre player who bounces back to him, 1 then plays to 3, 3 then runs with the ball to 2. Centre player goes to 3, 1 replaces him in the centre.
2 then plays to the centre player who bounces him. 2 then plays to 4 who runs with the ball to 1. centre player goes to 4, 2 is now the centre player.
Starts again from 1.
Progression - a bounce on the outside player as well.
Eg. 1 get bounce from centre and plays to 3, 3 gets a quick 1-2 off the centre player on his way to 2.
Next progression - 2 passive defenders blocking passing lanes, and players can now pass anywhere - promote communicate and scanning.

Setup
25x25 grid.6v5 on the inside of the grid with our 9 playing as a joker for both teams in sky blue, with two bouncers.
Australia are playing up and down the ground, Spain are playing across the pitch.
Two players are positioned at opposite end of the grid.
The team task is to maintain possesion and get the ball across from one side to the other.
The player who plays the ball to him teamate outside the grid swaps with him, so we are constantly rotating.
Bouncers cannot play across the grid to each other.
When Spain wins the ball, they now play across the park from side to side.
The team in possesion must use the joker to get the ball across the grid.
This will provide coaching opportunities in regards to movement and scanning for the joker that we can transfer to the game training.
Progression - limit to two touches if players are not challenged.

Game Training.
Setup.
3/5 of a pitch.
Spain - GK, 2,3,4,5,6,8 & 10
Austraila - 3,6,7,8,9,10,11
Rules
Australia plays in from the 3, who holds his position, and doesn't follow the pass in.
Australia try to create a goal scoring opportunity.
If Spain win the ball, they have 10 seconds to run the ball through the two gates marked with the red cones.
If the ball goes out of play, restart from Australia's 3.
Team task - Can you bring the 9 into our build up to create a goal scoring opportunity?
Replicate the shape issues as shown - 7 & 11 coming deep to collect, and 10 not supporting.
We are a goal down, so we cannot adopt that defensive shape - we have to push forward.
Once we replicate the problem, then we can change that shape.
Player tasks.
Everyone - Quick ball movement
7 & 11 - start higher and see if we can recieve the ball closer to goal.
10 - Get in between the lines and support the 9.
6,8,10 - Can you hit the 9's feet
Everyone - Don't force it - be patient, defence is organised.
6,8,10 Do not overcommit in the midfield, always make sure we have one covering - make it realistic.
Player Cues.
9 - When the ball is coming though the midfield can you make yourself visible?
9 - when the ball is played to your feet, can you hold it up?
9 - when we are coming through the midfield, can you make a lateral movement to attempt to lose your marker?
9 - when holding up the ball, can you get an angle to play 7 or 11 in behind Spain's defence?
9 - when holding up the ball, can you turn you marker and get a shot off?
6,8,10 - when bringing the ball through the midfield, can you play to the 9's feet?
6,8,10 - when moving forward, can you bounce the 9 and drive into the box?
6,8,10 - After bouncing the 9, can you get an angle to play 7 or 11 in behind?
6,8,10 - when playing forward, can you find some separation for an opportunity to shoot.
7,11 - when played in behind the defence, can we either get some quality ball whipped across the box, or cut back to the top of the box.
