The team will learn on how to properly defend. The exercises will show how to properly enter in a defensive position and try to unsettle the attacker. Also the players will learn how to transition from defense to offense.

Organization: Have equal amount of players in the teams. Have a few balls and a few cones to map out the field.
Instructions:
- 1 Team will start with the ball and pass the ball across to the other player and start defending. Each players will be able to score on each other if of course the defender disposes the attacker
Coaching Points:
-Observe players to get low on their knees
-Angle of approach
-Speed of entering in the defending position
-patience when to step up
-Small little steps to unsettle the attacker

Organization:
Hae teams of 2. Have 1 ball for each group. Have multiple cones to mark out the field as shown above. The field space is depending on the age group and the skill level of the players. Remember constricting the space demands higher control of the ball.
Instructions:
-In each grid players will be on a 1v1 situation. In grid 1 the blue player will score and the white will defend the goal. In grid 2 the white player will score and the blue will defend the goal. The roles could be switch. Each grid wil remember to keep score and after the time the winners will move on and the losing team will stay if it is a competition. In each grid the players will try to block off the passing lanes. To make it realistic you could assign poisitions to relate it to a game.

Progressions: Take away the lines and have free play of 2v2
P- Have player man mark specific player (This does not mean that player follow each other, player can cover space to block lanes. Make it as real as possible to a game situation but with a few restrictions to have the repetition)
R-Have the attacker have limited touches on the ball to score, this will give time for the defender to take the ball away

Organization: 10 cones to map out the field. Have two small goals, 1 ball for the game (Plenty by coaches side) 2 teams of equal number
Instructions:
-have the players ply a free game with no restrictions. Add neutrals if the game demands it.
Coaching Points:
-observe the players have a team defending
-observe the player individual defending
-observe the entering of a defensive position
P- add neutral to give offense up numbers and defenders numbers down this will increase the tempo and the pressing of a defending team
R- limit the touches on the ball to give more time for defender to set up properly

Organization:
-Have multiple grids with 2 players in it. No ball for this warm up
Instructions:
-Teach the proper technique on defending. Each player will have to touch the knee of the opposite player. Player will try to tag each other and remmeber their count. Each winner after 1 minute moves on. Think of this exercise as a wrestling movement (Without the take down) Players are only allow to tag the knee
Coaching Points:
-Teach players to get low on thier knees
-Teach players on stepping up and attacking the attacker
-teach different types of movement to unsettle the attacker
-The winner of each groups moves on after a couple of minutes
