We look to progress through our 4 midfielders
We exploit spaces with movement
Recognition between good and bad possession
Paitent Build up, if not able to play forwartd keep the ball

Scenario 1:
Ball has been played to LCB from GK
Observations :
- 8 creates width on the side
- Shaded area "one" Highlights movement of CDM, RCM, CAM creating numerical superiority centrally
- Shaded area "Two" highlights LCM and LW staying on opposite channels
- Diamond has remained in midfield despite moving to the left
- Replicate on right side if GK plays
Coaching Points:
- LCB, RCB pass is based on pressure applied by oppsition
- Smetimes the 8 or 6 will stay central based on the pressure applied by the opposition
- Midfielders movement must intially be away from the space that they intend to occupy.
- LCB RECEIVING touch is trigger to get into shape
- Recognition of good vs bad possession
- Good possession means we can keep greater distances ( "2" staying wider, Mid's not coming too short)
- Bad possession means player is under pressure and we must get tiighter ( "2" tucks in, "6" dropping deeper, "8" coming shorter)

Scenario:
LCB has QUICKLY switched the ball from one side to the other. We did it in one or two passes which initiates different movements
Observations:
- 11 Has now came short
- Shaded area "One" is the area that we exploit
- "10" Looks to make run in behind LB
- "8" now gets central incase we lose ball or we must connect infield
- "9" Looks to occupy both CB's keeping them away from shaded area "one"
Coaching Points:
- AS winger drops it's important to recieve on "half turn" not back to goal
- If RCB sees that winger is mrked closely can they play the ball forward into the run
- Vital we keep ball, which means if run does not happen or it's been marked we look to central towards the midfielders and progress centrally
"10" may be too far to exploit shaded area so "6" must make run and "10" comes deep

Ideal shape
Scenario: Overview of Runs and Ideal Shape
NB our players will be represented as numbers/ opposition as players
Principles:
-Shape begins narrow as a diamond in midfield
-Possession of the ball is slow
-looking to progress through our central players and not go quickly over the top.
- Looking to keep the diamond at all times in midfield
- Strikers/ wingers look to stretch the game by occupying opposition high
