Playing out from goal kicks.
2 of the CB's get to the edge of the box, but are always aware they need to get back to their central position quickly. The central CB stays on the edge of the 'D', sllightly off centre and on the half turn ready to support the midfield if needed.
Wing backs get as wide as possible and quite high, ready to be released with a diag if possible.
CDM, CMs and CAM setup 2 plus 2 with the higher players starting on the half way line. All midfield positions should be rotating to pull the opposition about as much as possible. Look to get on the ball early, play the way you're facing quickly and then make forward runs to receive again.
Striker attempts to occupy as many of the oppo's defenders as possible and allow space in wide areas for the wingbacks.

Example shown above of what we should look like when in attack. CDM is a play maker, wingbacks are getting as high up the pitch at the ST to offer width and pull opposition players out of position to allow space in the final third for our attacking players.
Look to play quickly, recognise opportunities to switch and get on the end of low crosses or make penetrating passes for the ST or CAM to get on the end of.
CBs remain central, if play breaks down and we lose possession, one CB presses hard and fast while the other two drop off and delay play if needed to give our players enough time to recover in numbers and win the ball back.

5-4-1 Wingbacks
Centre Backs - Defend centrally, one CB presses quickly while the other two drop off and look to delay play if the first CB gets beaten. Protect the middle but allow oppo to play out wide.
Wing Backs - Look to get forwards to join the attack whenever we're in possession, do it quickly and look for overlapping runs around the CMs. When we lose it, can you affect play to win the ball back within 5 seconds? If not, recover quickly to a strong defensive position.
CDM - Look to play the ball forwards when possible, preferably on the diagonal to bring the wingbacks into play. Keep possession at all costs and break down their midifled build up play quickly.
Centre Midfielders - Be comfortable on the ball, play the way you're facing and create a diamond in midfield with the CDM and CAM. Play narrow to allow room for the wingbacks to come forwards and look to play in their overlapping runs.
CAM - Play with a free role, can you pick up the ball and drive at the defense to pull players out of position? Look to play one-two's with the wingbacks as they come forwards and overlap the target man where possible to be a fox in the box.
Striker - Lead the line and keep the opposition defense busy, play centrally to leave room for the wingbacks to play out wide, if defenders go to the wingbacks, can you and the CAM combine to exploit space in the middle and get shots on target.
