Teaching the crossover step
Technique of the step is not crossing one leg past the other like a carioca. Turn the hips and run in the direction they want to go, but with their upper body facing the ball. If there is a long way to go, use the crossover, then end with a few quick shuffles to adjust the final position for making the catch.
Same activity as previous. Add server (now 2)

Instructions:
Goalkeeper will move to one side, make save, distribute and move across goal to save next shot. Goalkeeper can start to focus on movement only by not having first ball striked and just move and set in that position.
Coaching Points:

Work both sides.
Coaching Points:

-Turn hips to direction you would like to go
-Dont cross feet to trip or unbalance
-Cover distance quickly and slow down as you get in position to make save
-As you slow, start to shuffle to be balanced to make save
