Warm Up (10 mins)

Using different types of your foot dribble or run with the ball to the end and back to your team mate

1) dribble across

2) dribble across right foot only

3) dribble across left foot only

4) touches with inside then outside of right foot only

5) touches with inside / outside of left foot only

6) drag the ball across with the sole of foot

7) speed dribble x 2

1v1 technical practise (15 mins)

1v1 Practise

Organisation

Players face each other. Blue (attacker) has the ball, white (defender) can't touch the ball. blue must try and dribble ball and touch against cone. To stop blue scoring, white player must touch cone with foot. If white touches both cones with foot then they win. Swap roles.

Coaching Points

- change of direction / change of speed

- fake one way, move the other

- small touches before changing direction, big touches to bulid up speed

Continious waves (10 mins)

Continious Waves of Attack

Organisation

Each player has a ball and teams line up diagonally opposite sides of the goal. Two goalkeepers in the goals.

Player A dribbles towards the goal and shoots. After he has hit his shot, player B dribbles towards the opposite goal, player A tries to stop him scoring. Then player C dribbles and B defends and the game continues.

Coach

- Head up and watch the goalkeeper

- find the corners

- defend as soon as you have had your shot
