Function
Centre-defenders and Blue teams MUST stay inside coned area, full-backs can go wide to create space. Aim is to play to deep lyer.
1. Goalkeeper- Always provide the option so players can keep possession
2&3. Full backs- Should remain wide unless the attack breaks down
4&5. Centre backs- push wide when goalkeeper has the ball come back central when ball in play
6. Deep lyer- Always provide and option so players can pass the ball to him.
Coaching points:
- can we get wide, as centre-halfs and full-backs
- if yellows push too far up can we vary our passing, i.e. look over the top of them?
- can we play wide, then when pressured either switch the play or play back to goalkeeper?
