Skill Development (15 mins)
Set up:
4v2 (5v2 or 3v1 if needed to simplify)
Description:
4v2. Defenders look to win ball and dribble out of square. If successful defender switches with player they stole the ball from. Ensure defenders are constantly switched if in for long periods of time.
Progression: Attackers score by 'splitting' defenders. For example if they can pass though the gap of the defenders they get a point.
Coaching Points:
4 Attacking principles (Width, depth, height and width)
Technique and weight of pass / first touch
Movement off the ball
Body shape
- Defenders working together.

Skill Development 2 (15 mins)
Set up:
3v1 (+1)
Description:
3v1. The 3 are trying to keep possession. There aim is to get 4 passes and then switch the play to an open red. If successful 1 player will follow as will the defender and the game starts again from the other side. White's aim is to win the ball and counter to an open white player. If successful one white will join and one red as a defender

Skill Development 3 (20 mins)
Set Up
3v2 / 4v3 transition.
Description:
Red attempt to break out of first half into 2nd half of the field. White team can only defend their half. If white steal they can move anywhere and it becomse a 4v3 scrimmage.
Coaching Points
1st defender make play predictable
2nd defender provide cover and then support when possession is won
Reaction time and decision making of players in transition - once possession is won
