For progression purposes the number 7 has been included to show how we look to transition from corner and quickly break out on the opposite side from the corner. If the corner is over hit we would be looking for 2 from the secondary unit to play out to the 7.

For progression purposes the number 11 has been included to show the mirrored approach from the previous slide.

Defensive Corners
Primary player is the goalkeeper and the secondary unit contains the 2, 3, 5 and 6 as their function is to try and keep the 6 yard box as clear as possible.
The secondary unit are to adopt the position shown on the image immediately on the award of the corner.
The goalkeeper then organises players outside of the secondary unit by height with the opposition players (shown waiting on the edge of the 18 yard box) waiting to pick players up as they arrive.
The fullback on the side the corner is to be taken is to take up a near post position to cut out a lower driven corner. Protection for the goalkeeper and the dealing with lofted balls is provided by the 5 and 6. The opposite side full back provides rear protection to prevent an attacker coming through players before the corner is taken and moving around to position themselves in front of the keeper
