Technical Activity
Objective:
GK movement and positioning.
Attacking players arrange themselves around the penalty box and one player at the penalty mark. The coach stands behind the goal.
The GK starts with the ball and distributes out to an attacking player. The attacking players always take 2 touches. One touch to control and look to goal as if they are shooting. Attacking players only shoot if the coach singles from behind the goal (I usually have a small stack of cones to appear more visible). If not signled the players pass the ball to another attacker. GK continues to move and prepare for a shot. The GK should quickly step out 1v1 style, if the ball is played into the player at the penalty mark. The player at the penalty mark can shoot even if not signaled.
Rebounds are live to be shot, not passed.
Coaching Points:

Proper footwork: shuffle for small distances, crossover/sprint for large distances
Horizontal movement along GK arch
Decision to catch vs parry
