Attacking Corners positionally as shown above. ALWAYS BE AGGRESSIVE AND ATTACK THE BALL
A) 4-players surround the goalkeeper without getting within 2-ft of touching him. When the ball is ready to be crossed, put your arms up in the air to distract the GK
B) 1-player start on the penalty spot and attack the cross once it is delivered.
C) 1-players stay on the back of the 6-yd box. This player is known as 'clean up'. Stay disciplined and wait for the ball to come to you.
D) 1-player stay outside the 'D'. If the ball is cleared by the defending team, either shoot, serve the ball back into the box or STOP any counter attack opportunity. On attacking corners, we have poor defensive shape since we have so many players committed to the set piece. It is VITAL we avoid counter attacks from our set pieces.
E) 2-players stay back and defend their forward(s) and keep defensive shape.
Corner Takers: Ideally, left-footed players should take corners on the right and right-footed players take corners on the left. That way the ball can be curled in on target and delivered inside the 6-yd box. Corners putting the ball ANYWHERE else than inside the 6-yd box, increase the risk of a counter attack against our team.

Defending Corners Zonally (15 mins)
Defending Corners zonally as shown above. ALWAYS HAVE YOUR BACKS TO GOAL
A) Goalkeeper (#1) in the middle of the goal near the goal line
B) Full Backs (#2 & #3) on the goal line by either post
C) Center Backs (#4 & #5) inside the 6-yd box either side of the goal keeper.
D) Defensive Midfielder (#6) on the penalty spot
E) Attacking Midfielder (either #8 or #10) inside the 6-yd box, on the diagonal line to the side of the corner
F) Attacking Wide Forward (either #7 or #11) outside the box to the side of the corner
G) Attacking Wide Forward & Attack Center Midfield (either #7 or #11/ #8 or #10) marking danger players
H) Center Forward (#9) up on halfway line to opposite side of the corner
Job Roles
1) IF the GK can come and claim the cross, CALL and please do so. CB's (#4 & #5) shield and protect your keeper
2) If the GK cannot, CALL "AWAY". Players attack the ball crossed into your area. Header the ball high, far and away.
3) If opponents play a short corner, Def Mid & Att Mid (#6 & #8 or #10) nearest the corner BOTH go out and defend the ball 2v2. Do not dive in.
4) If the ball drops inside the penalty area, EVERYBODY condense and get between the ball and the goal. Don't dive in or panic, but try to clear the ball.
5) If the ball is cleared OR the GK has it and can counter attack, play forward quickly and push up calling 'STEP'.
