Progression.
Continue to play as before but introduce a new rule: Players may now play the ball into the lone player and then cross the halfway line to create a 2v5. If the opposition win the ball the supporting player must retreat to his own half.
Play for a set time and rotate the lone player on each team.
Progression 2.
Allow 2 players to cross the line once a ball has been played into the lone player, creating a 3v5.
Play for a set time and rotate the lone player on each team.
Coaching Points:
Can the lone player create space to recieve the ball

SSG Shooting Game
Shooting SSG
Mark out a short pitch as shown. (Pitch could be made narrower if fewer players)
Players play 5v1 in each half, as shown. Players may not cross the halfway line.
Play always restarts with one of the GKs.
The GK must roll the ball out to one of his team mates. In this example, the blues combine to create a shooting opportunity. The lone red player must put pressure on the blues. The reds in their own half must try to block the shots. As soon as the blue player has his shot the lone blue player must be ready to react to any blocks, saves or rebounds. If the reds win the ball from the rebound, they must now combine in the same way and try to create a shooting opportunity.
Have a supply of balls in each goal to maintain a quick tempo.
Play for a set time and rotate the lone player on each team.
Coaching Points:
Can the players create an opening for a shot?
Try not to force a shot through a crowd of players.
Look for different shooting techniques; laces, side foot, chip.
