Defensive shape and passing warm up activity
Organization:
3 channels with 4 players in each channel, zones showing vertical 5 yard channels to cover
Outside players keep the ball 1-2 touch trying to connect passes to opposite team to penetrate
Middle team works on defensive shape, communication, pressure/cover
CPs:
Speed of pressure player with communication
Body shape and angle
Cover distance and angle
Speed to move forwards and backwards when needed
When intercept, completing pass to make possession

2v2 Defending Activity
Organization
2 players start on red line defending. 2 brown players attack the mini goal. 1 goal to score, 2 goals if enter the red zone and score
If yellow team wins ball have 5 seconds to score in counter goals for 2 points
Once play is over then attack becomes defender and yellow team attacks
Progress to 3v3
CPs
Meeting play high and defending forward on front foot
Communication right/left/step etc from both players
Cover angle and coaching from second player
Read cues when to engage and tackle vs when to contain

Larger Defending Activity
Organization
Same activity as above but larger space and 3v3-4v4 to 11v11 goals with goalkeepers
CPs
Meeting play high and defending forward on front foot
