Aim
To get the GK on his toes and ready for quick, fast shots on goal. Blocking and 1 on 1's

Rebound
Aim
To give the GK practice of a potentially deflected shot on goal where he will have little time to react to the ball's movement.
Instructions
The GK will start in the centre of his goal and facing the wall.
The coach will be behind the GK and will kick/throw the ball off the wall. The GK has to react quickly to the bounce.
Progression
2 shots on goal with the 2nd taken as soon as the GK is back onto 1 foot

Sides
Aim
To have the GK thinking about his movements and his own position in the goal
Instructions
The GK will REMAIN in-line with c1, they will throw the ball back and forward to each other.
When c1 shouts 'left' or 'right', the GK will move to that side and get in line with the ball for a shot.
Progression
The GK has to remain in front of the coach, no matter what way he is facing (and remain 2 metres away from him).
The coach can serve the ball at any point to any position - up, down, dive
When the coach shouts a side, the GK will move to this side for the 1st shot and then to the other. cR and cL can move around their side to any angle

Quick receive
Aim
To have the GK making quick movements around the goal in order to stop a series of saves
Instructions
The GK will start in the centre of his goal facing out.
On command, he will move to a numbered coach to set & receive a shot. he will rise to his feet and then move to another numbered coach (x3)
(coaches must allow the GK to make his move and set in position)
Progression
1. On each rotation, the coaches will move 2m closer
2. The coaches will give the GK less time make his move and set.
3. 3 numbers given right at the start

1 v 1
Aim
To improve the GK's technique for collecting a ball on a 1 v 1 situation
Instructions
The GK will start in a small goal facing out
As the coach starts moving forward, the GK has to adjust his position to be ready for any shot.
How does the GK when the shot is coming?
After the coach has passed the red markers he can shoot from any position - both sides must be worked
e.g. straight shot; in close and shoot or try to get around the GK
The GK when he is diving at the coach's feet has to try and cut the path of the ball and NOT dive backwards as this will just let the coach through

Forward movement
Aim
To have the GK making a series of dives over a set area. The aim of this for the GK is move move forward all the time so that he covers the distance quicker
Instructions
The GK will start at the 1st cone. The coach will serve the ball by hand or foot and the GK has to make a forward dive to save it.
The GK will then return the ball to the coach and get back on his feet and set for the next service.
The GK will keep moving forward until he has reached the end
