This is the second of 2 sessions planned purely to assess the level of players in my squad. Very minimal coaching will take place.
The session is designed to include a range of SSGs that will allow myself and other coaches to see where any strengths and weaknesses are so that we can plan accordingly for the coming weeks, where more coaching and guidance will be given.

Split into groups of 4. 4 with bibs, 4 without.
3 mini pitches per group of 4; the 2 outside pitches will be a 1v1, with the middle pitch being a 2v2.
1v1 pitches are a regular scoring game, get the ball into opponent's goal = 1 point.
On the 2v2 pitch, points are scored by dribbling the ball over the line and stopping it.
After 5 minutes, collect scores from each game in each group and tally it up (e.g. white team's score from each group of 4v4's is totalled up)
5 minutes play time, then the 1v1 players play 2v2 and vice versa.
After 5 minutes, collect scores from each game in each group and tally it up.
Once everyone has played 2v2 and played 1v1, swap over again. This time, the 1v1 players play the opponent they haven't played 1v1 yet.
The 2v2 scoring rules will change. This time, rather than dribbling over the line, the aim is to pass to your opponent as he runs over the line. (i.e. don't just stand behind the line and wait, make the run when team mate can pass it to you)
5 minutes, collect scores, change.
--- If odd numbers, create a float who plays for the team in possession in the 2v2, and helps the player on the ball in the 1v1s ---

Split players into 2 teams.
Set out a team big enough to for the number of players.
Number players in each team from 1-x
Players 1 & 2 from each team start as 'target' players behind their team's goals (diagonal from each other).
The rest of the team compete for possession inside the playing area. Teams score points by passing to one of their team mates through the gates (e.g. white score points by passing through a gate to a white player).
Players 1 & 2 swap for 3 & 4 etc. either after every goal or after 2-3 minutes.
After a team scores, other team gain possession through coach playing it in.

For the final 10-15 minutes, play a regular SSG, but with 1 or 2 floats, number depending. If even numbers, play with 2 floats, if odd numbers, play with 1 float. e.g. 6v6 + 1 for odd numbers, of 6v6 + 2 for even numbers.
This will ensure an overload is always created - either an extra player for the team in possession, or an extra 2 players. This will benefit both sides, increasing the chances of both teams scoring goals. Play without goalkeepers.
Allow the game to be played uncoached, only stepping in to referee where required.

Arrival Activity (5 mins)
Each player is assigned a partner. 1 ball between each pair.
For 5 minutes, move around the grid with your partner, lots of short passes - once you've passed it, you must move. Encouraging players to talk - Pass, call partner's name, general conversation etc.
Extra challenge: Can you pass & receive with both feet?
---- Create a 3 if odd numbers ---
