Game situation with 2 defenders

Starting Position: Behind the eye line

- Striker starts behind the vision of the defenders so that they are unable to see both the player with the ball and the striker at the same time.

- If the defender looks back, he/she will not be able to see the ball, if he/she looks forwards, he will not be able to see the striker

- striker starts in an offside position with the intention of dropping into the red pocket of space infront of the defenders to receive the ball

U9/U10: No offsides, however, we want to learn good habits from a young age.

U11 and above:

Starting position should be:

1. vertically between the lines (starting position between two defenders so that both defenders have to consider who's going to mark the striker)

2. behind the eye line

Finishing position when showing for the ball

1. Drop into the pocket (horizontally between the lines)

horizontally between the lines refers to between the oppositions defenders and midfield
