SET UP:
- Small-sided game with floating attacker and defender.
- Floating Attacker can move onto either pitch to create a overload/superiority.
- Floating Defender can move onto either pitch to support the defender.
KEY POINTS:
- MOVEMENT OFF BALL (DO I MOVE TOWARDS OR AWAY FROM THE BALL? WHAT WILL THE IMPACT BE?)
- CAN I MOVE TO CREATE A NUMERICAL SUPERIORITY (2V1/3V1) WITH THE PLAYER ON THE BALL? CAN I MOVE TO CREATE A NUMERICAL SUPERIORITY AWAY FROM THE BALL (2V0/2V1)?
- CAN I/WE MOVE THE BALL INTO AN AREA WHERE THERE IS A SUPERIORITY/FREE MAN (WHY WILL THIS BE A BENEFIT? HOW WILL THIS HELP US MOVE THE BALL FORWARD?)
- CAN I MOVE/POSITION IN SUCH A WAY TO CREATE AN OPENING TO PENETRATE? CAN I POSITION SO THAT I CAN RECEIVE FROM A PENETRATING PASS?
- PERCEPTUAL AWARENESS (HOW IS THE AVAILABLE SPACE? WHERE ARE MY TEAMMATES? WHERE IS THE FREE MAN? WHERE ARE THE OPPOSITION?)
- PASS COMMUNICATION (CAN MY PASS MOVE MY TEAMMATE INTO SPACE/AWAY FROM PRESSURE/FORWARD?)
- CAN I PASS OR DRIBBLE TO MOVE THE BALL FORWARD?
- IF I AM UNABLE TO MOVE FORWARD, AM I ABLE TO PASS SIDEWAYS OR BACKWARDS TO A TEAMMATE IN SPACE?
- IS THIS PLAYER ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD? IF NOT, CAN I PROVIDE AN OPTION FOR A PASS TO TRY AND GO FORWARD?
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- 1v1 with additional floating players.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- Transfer game. Team in possession can score by transfering the ball from one end box to the other end box. They can do this in 3 ways:
- 1/ Pass straight through centre box.
- 2/ Pass around into wide box then into end box.
- 3/ Pass and receive in centre box to pass into end box.
- Point from defenders if they are able to force ball out of play, intercpet or tackle.
- CAN I MOVE/POSITION IN SUCH A WAY TO CREATE AN OPENING TO PENETRATE? CAN I POSITION SO THAT I CAN RECEIVE FROM A PENETRATING PASS?
- HOW DO I NEED TO POSITION TO HELP MOVE THE BALL FORWARD/INTO SPACE WHEN RECEIVING? (IN FRONT OF PRESSURE/AROUND PRESSURE/THROUGH PRESSURE)
- POSITIONING ANGLE (TO CREATE OVERLOAD/SUPERIORITY, MULTIPLE PASSING OPTIONS AND USE OF WIDTH & DEPTH)
- PERCEPTUAL AWARENESS (WHERE IS AVAILABLE SPACE? WHERE ARE OPPOSITION POSITIONED? WHERE ARE MY TEAMMATES POSITIONED?)
- PASS COMMUNICATION (CAN MY PASS MOVE MY TEAMMATE INTO SPACE/AWAY FROM PRESSURE/FORWARD?)
- BALL CIRCULATION (IF THE BALL MOVES IT IS HARDER FOR THE OPPOSITION TO DEFEND. DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO MOVE? - LA PAUSA. CAN WE MOVE THE BALL TO PROVOKE OPPOSITION PRESSURE?)
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- 3-team rotation.
- Can only score in 1 way (added constraints).
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- 3v3 with 2 target players and 2 goals.
- 1 team will score by playing ball from one target player to the other. The other team can score by making 1 pass and scoring into either goal.
- Team with target players will always start with ball.
- PASSING OPTIONS (NEAR THE BALL/AROUND THE BALL/AWAY FROM THE BALL. WHY ARE THEY NEEDED? DO WE NEED ALL OF THEM?)
- POSITIONING TO RECEIVE BUT ALSO BE ABLE TO DEFEND GOAL IF BALL IS LOST.
POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:
- Teams rotate objectives after goal.
- Use of neutral player.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
SET UP:
- Conditioned Game with 3 zones and 2 neutral players.
- 1v1 locked in at each zone. the 2 neutral players are free to move into any zone at anytime to create overloads or vertical plassing options.
- no restriction on passes in zones but focus on linking objectives from previous weeks and this week (supporting options/playing ball into space if unable to go forward/creating overloads).
KEY POINTS:
DEFENSIVE ZONE
- POSITIONING TO RECIEVE THE BALL FROM GK OR OTHER DEFENDER (ANGLED TO USE WIDTH AND DEPTH)
- USE OF GK (IF UNABLE TO GO FORWARD,CAN I PASS BACKWARDS/SIDEWAYS TO A FREE MAN)
- BODY SHAPE/ORIENTATION (TO MOVE THE BALL FORWARD/INCREASE FIELD OF VISION)
MIDFIELD ZONE
- POSITIONING (ON DIFFERENT VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL LINES TO INCREASE PLAYABLE SPACE)
- BODY SHAPE/ORIENTATION (TO MOVE THE BALL FORWARD/INCREASE FIELD OF VISION)
- PASS COMMUNICATION (CAN MY PASS MOVE MY TEAMMATE INTO SPACE/AWAY FROM PRESSURE/FORWARD?)
- CAN I MOVE TO CREATE A NUMERICAL SUPERIORITY (2V1/3V1) WITH THE PLAYER ON THE BALL? CAN I MOVE TO CREATE A NUMERICAL SUPERIORITY AWAY FROM THE BALL (2V0/2V1)
NEUTRAL PLAYERS
- IF WE MOVE TOWARDS THE BALL,WHAT WILL HAPPEN ELSEWHERE ON THE PITCH? (OVERLOAD IN ZONE WITH BALL = MAINTENANCE OF POSSESSION, BUT WILL BE HARDER TO MOVE THE BALL FORWARD WITH LIMITED OPTIONS)
- CAN WE POSITION AND CREATE OVERLOAD VERTICALLY TO MAINTAIN POSSESSION AND PROGRESS BALL UPFIELD.
- Players able to rotate with neutrals into next zone.
- Able to progress ball with pass or dribble in possession.
