Candy Store

Organisation:

  • Players dribble freely inside the area trying to avoid touching each other.
  • Players and coach decide on 4 candies they like, each side of the area is named a candy as demonstrated.
  • When the coach shouts a candy, the players dribble to that side of the area and stop the ball.

Modify:

  • When players stop at their 'candy' they perform a ball mastery skill such as toe taps; inside-outside; shuffle; sole rolls
  • Designate 1 player to call out a candy and the other players race them to that side.
  • Use colour cones or pinnies, designate one colour to a candy. This will get players to play with their head up.
Coaches Questions:
  • What part of the ball should we use to dribble the ball?
  • What part of the ball can we use to stop the ball?

Modify:

  • This can be done without a ball also.
  • Players can get in pairs and make it a competition.
  • One player can be a 'guard' protecting the games, or have several 'guards'.
  • Players perform a turn/skill as they pass through the gate.

Coaches Questions:
  • What part of the ball should we use to dribble the ball?
  • What part of the ball can we use to stop the ball?
  • How do we find the next gate quickly?
