Developing game understanding as defending as a unit, with quick counter attack.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Red team attacks goal and trys to score, if ball goes out or they score a goal. Play will always start with coach feeding ball in to play.
Purple team must keep shape and press the ball when they can. Players 1 and 3 must screen the pass and prevent it from getting into the strikers. When the ball is on the leftsdie the RCB player 6 is the last man, if the ball is switched the LCB player 5 drops and the RCB player 6 steps in. Players 4 and 3 will slide across to keep defensive shape.
Progression: Purple team can now counter attack quickly and can drive or pass through the gates to score.
Communication and discipline are key. Players must work as a unit forceing the red players either back or down the channels. Preventing strikers to turn or to receive pass.
Communication, pressure, keep shape, speed of thought and play in transition.
