Receiving in stride using all parts of the foot and quickly returning the pass. Helps players attack as a group without having to slow down and to be comfortable using any part of the foot in stride.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
The Session: 4v2 Possesion, make 5 passes in a row, then play a penetrating ball beyond the marked line. Receive on the run using the outside of the foot on first touch, and on second touch take your shot or cross. Two defenders will recover to try and block the shot or pass, or claim the rebound.
Attacking players switch out after each attack. If defenders steal the ball, they must get the ball to the Coach (simulating a CM outlet pass) for a point.
Key Points:
-Maintain composure, keep possession.
-Once you've reached the 5 consecutive pass mark, look for the penetrating pass.
-Constant movement off the ball to be in position to receive the next pass.
-Communication
Progression:
- 3 touch, 2 touch
Key Messages:
-Receive with outside foot in stride, set up your shot, and take it
-Break the line

Warmup and First Phase (30 mins)
The Session: Receive the ball with different parts of the foot in stride and quickly return the ball to a teammate. Ball always starts and ends with the central player.
Warmup: Players get with partners and pass through arches. Use inside of the foot to pass through, then progress to laces, and finish with flick through with the outside. Have the teams count how many passes they can get through the arches in a minute. Can limit to a specific foot each time as well.
PHASE 1
Key Points:
-Passes in front of teammate to simulate attacking play
-Receive ball in stride with outside of foot closest to the ball
-Second touch is an outside the foot pass/flick to central player
-Central player receives with outside of the foot in stride and transfers ball to other foot for an outside the foot pass
Last player receives with outside of the foot in stride and returns the ball to the central player
Progression:
(1)Same sequence as above, but this time the outside player receives with the outside of the closest foot and transfers the ball to their back foot in stride for a pass with the inside of the foot.
(2) Same as above, but players receive with the inside of the back foot in stride and return the ball with that foot
(3) Fake pass add-on: Receive with outside of closest foot in stride, open hips to simulate a pass to the central player with inside of that same foot, roll the ball across your body and transfer to the opposite foot to make the pass.
Key Messages:
-Time of the Movements (movement before the pass)
-Properly weighted passes
-Placement of passes
-Touch on the ball when receiving
-Movement as a group
-Quality of Pass
