Shooting Activity: 1v1 (20 mins)

Organisation: Using area inside and just outside the penalty area. 10-14 players

Activity: Divide players into 2 teams, line up each team 10 yards outside penalty area and 15 yards appart. Feeder will play pass to first player in line of a team, that player will take a shot from distance (about the 18 yard line), and then run in for a second ball fed closer in simulating a rebound. If player misses both, they are eliminated and position themselves behind/beside net, if player scores 1 goal they go to the back of their line to shoot again, if they score both an eliminated player from their team can return. An eliminated player can also return if they catch a ball in air that's missed the net.

Coaching Points: Can players approach ball with speed and intent? Are they engaged after first shot to go to goal for rebound? From distance are players using laces for power, versus instep from in close on simulated rebound? Technically: part of ball, part of foot, planting foot beside ball, follow through with foot aiming towards target.

Shooting Activity: Jail (20 mins)

Organisation: Using area inside and just outside the penalty area. 10-14 players

Activity:  Divide players into 2 teams.  Line each team diagonal from each other on either side of post and ten yards ouside penalty area.  Defender on one side of the net begins by playing a simulated give away pass to first player in line from other team directly infront of them, defender then closes in to defend attacker from scoring.  Attacker attacks goal to try to score.  If defender wins ball they can play to their attacks in line adjacent to the opposing team.

Organization:  Coaching Points: Can players approach ball with speed and intent? If defender slow to close down are they aware enough to shoot using space given? If defender closes in quickly can attacker beat defender to get off a shot. Are attackers engaged after initial shot to go to goal for rebound? From distance are players using laces for power, versus instep from in close on rebound? Technically: part of ball, part of foot, planting foot beside ball, follow through with foot aiming towards target.
