3 minutes on, 1 minute rest, 5 total sessions

Drill is shadow only
Blue starts with ball and passes back and forth between each other
As Blue passes ball Black provides pressure on ball and cover on other blue player
When ball moves from blue player to blue player black needs to pressure ball and drop off on other side
Blue passes back and forth for 6-8 passes then sends the ball to green players
Green players pass the ball back and forth, Blue follow pass and become working defenders, black rests
Cycle continues
**High work rate out of working defenders**
Quick pressure on ball side
Channel toward cover defender
Giving ball controller the look that they can pass to 2nd attacker
Partner drops off to approximately 45* angle
Must be in position to support partner if beaten on dribble and cover second attacker
Look to jump square pass, leading pass, or heavy touch to counter

As attacking players passes ball, Black provides pressure on ball and cover on other attacking players
When ball moves from player to player black needs to pressure ball and drop off on 2nd and 3rd attackers
Possessing team pass back and forth for 6-8 passes then sends the ball to other blue player
Green players transition up line to work with other Blue player, Black players transition to defense on ball end
2 minutes on then switch roles
2-3 cycles or until comprehension is seen
Green goes to defense, Black goes to ends, Blue goes to flanks

Equal teams 3v3 or 4v4 centrally with 1 or 2 target players on each target end
3 minutes on, 1 minute rest and change roles
Offside in play
Blue with ball works ball between each other in attempt to pass to target blue player/s
Green needs to apply pressure/cover
If Green wins ball they then try to find their target player/s

Body position on the press
What is body shape depending on 3rd of the field
Attacking 3rd in high press defend the touch line
Central and defending 3rd defend centrally
Channel into help, body open to promote a pass into cover player to step
Cover must quickly drop
Cover must be able to deny penetrating pass
Slide with ball movement
Progression:
Pass to target player must be through gates

2 halves with a tactical timeout at half
Allow players to lead the discussion
Guide them into session topic if necessary
