Football/Soccer Session Plan Drill (Colour): World Cup

World Cup

Organization:

*30 by 30 yard area

*8 players and 1 GK-4 teams of 2

*1 ball

Instructions:

1. Players join together in pairs of two and play world cup on coach's command.

2. Teams must choose a country as their team name.

3. Players must attempt to score on the goalie. As they shoot, they must yell out their country's name.

4. If you score, you stand behind the goal and advance to the next round.

5. Play again next round until their are two teams playing in the last round. Final team left is the winner.

6. Each round, the last time left that did not score is eliminated.

7. Play for set time limit.

Lightning Soccer

Organization:

*8 players

*1 ball per player

*3 cones-starting at the PK spot and final two cones being 4 yards apart

Instructions:

1. Players start with ball at their feet at 1st cone. On coach's command, players play lightning soccer.

2. Players dribble up to cone number two. They can shoot at GK anywhere from the 1st cone to the 2nd cone.

3. Once you shoot, you must go and become the GK. The player who was the GK, returns to the shooting line with a ball.

4. Players cannot shoot until the player in front of them passes the last and final cone.

5. Game should be played continuous with no stoppages. Players start with 2 lives except the game's initial starting GK who starts with 3.

6. If you score, your fine. If you miss and do not score, the player behind you scores on you; that means you lose a life.

7. Once you lose all lives, you stand behind the goal. If you catch a ball in the air, you come back in with 1 life.

8. Play for a set time.
