SSG.
Red Formation - 2-2-1-1 (11vs11 = 4-2-3-1).
Blue Formation 2-2-1-1 (11vs11 = 4-2-3-1).
Pitch Size - Width of 18 yard box. Goal Line to Edge of Centre circle (over half way line).
Conditions.
Reds;
- 8 Seconds to score when with the ball.
- Cannot sit deep and allow pressure.
- Can the reds win the ball in 7 seven seconds of Blue outfield player having possession, can we force them to play backwards and not allow them to pass forward.
Same coaching points apply as the Function.
Equipment.

- Bibs (6 red, 6 blue).
- 2 full size goals.

Function.
Red Formation - 2-2 (11vs11 = 4-2-3-1).
Blue Formation 2-1-1 (11vs11 = 4-2-3-1).
Objectives;
Blue Team - Score a goal by beating 2 CDM's and passing thourgh Zone 14.
Red Team - Protect Zone 14, Don't allow blue to score, can they win the ball back within 7 seconds.
Flat Markers Indicate where zone 14 is on the pitch to gain pitch geography and understanding for the players involved.
What to do;
Play always starts with the Feeder passing the ball into a Blue Player.
Blue Team - Feeder passes the ball to either 4, 8 or 10 who must then try to beat the CDM's and get into and pass through Zone 14.
Red Team - Using a High Press against the blue to win the ball back early on and not sit back and invite the blues to pressure the red goal gk.
- If/ when Reds win the ball they can just pass the ball out of play or back to the feeder to start again.
Conditions.
- Feeder must pass the ball to either Blue 8,4 or 10.
- Blue cannot shoot from range (unless Reds cannot be broken down and beaten).
- Reds must reset to flat markers placed on ground to map out where Zone 14 is.
Coaching Points;
- Show attacking player outside.
- Intensity.
- Body position (Low, Side on when pressing).
- Start Position and Angle of Approach when pressing player.
Player Specific Points;
- Red 5 & 6 - When 4 & 8 have pressed forward, you must push forward too, into the Zone 14 to protect any opposition getting through and challenging the GK.
- Red 4 & 8 - When pressing ensure to show outside and not inside, When one player goes to press make sure player who hasn't pressed as covered in behind and not allowed a simple pass through into Zone 14. (E.G. If red 4 presses Blue 8, Red 8 would need to sit in and protect any passes through to the Blue 9. If play is switched to either Blue 10 or 4 then the Red player, which in this case would 8, now would go and press the player on the ball with Red 4 making the recovery run to stop any passes into Blue 9).

- Flat Markers.
